  1. I get road, flight and mass transit info through other sources. How is Roadify different?
There is plenty of good “published” commuter information out there, like Google Transit, airline services, etc. Roadify takes things to the next level in two important ways:
    1. it layers real-time traveler intelligence on top of what these existing services provide. The addition of real-time user data means a much more accurate and helpful picture of what’s going on out there on the road, in airports, at the train station, etc.
An airline, for example, may send you a flight status, but can’t tell you about massive delays at security, which driving routes to the airport are clogged, and the like. Other travelers, on the other hand, could. Roadify will combine that dynamic, user-generated content with published data to become a single, immediate source of useful traveler information.

    2. it’s comprehensive. Ultimately, Roadify will cover multiple modes of transportation—aggregating the best published data from a variety of sources in the market, and bringing in more travelers of every stripe who will generate more, regularly updated, helpful content.

  3. Why is Roadify good for our community, the environment and the like?
Because the less time we spend circling the neighborhood for a parking spot, idling in traffic, searching for a gas station, etc., the less fuel we use, and the cleaner our air. More efficient commuting also means less congestion in our neighborhoods, on subway platforms, at bus stops, which means fewer frustrated travelers, and likely less driving. Also, Roadify will help promote alternative fuel vehicles by providing information such as the nearest alternative fuel filling station.

  5. How do you make money on this?
We don’t, right now. But eventually, we might like to try an idea where some people pay (people who give less) and some people get paid (people who give more). We are still working out the details but the idea will be to incentivize giving.

  7. When are you expanding beyond the New York Methodist Hospital area?
Most likely in early 2010. Check this site for updates.

  9. What will Roadify do next?
Roadify is slated to start simplifying other modes of transportation in early 2010. This could include helping you: navigate mass transit and airport delays, find the best driving route, get back to your car before your meter expires, arrange ride shares, find good restaurant choices along a route, and more.
